Carl Brister

Carl Brister is an international recording artist and multi-genre singer/songwriter who has been featured on NBC’s Access Hollywood, ABC’s Here and Now, BET, Aspire Network, and more.  Carl’s passionate lyrics and multi-range vocal stylings tell stories that connect with listeners around the globe. His 2023 break-out rendition of superstar Janet Jackson’s classic “Let’s Wait Awhile” and 2024 debut country single “Will Be Spring Again” both achieved nods on the Grammy’s first-ballot for Best Vocal Performance in the R&B and Country categories.

In 2016, Carl began The Love+Unity Fest which is a week-long, family-oriented event that was founded with the purpose of bringing the community together through music and the arts. The event is hosted by Music Village, a non-profit organization that Carl established in 2019 and provides annual scholarships to young aspiring artists to help them reach their dreams.  In 2024 Carl received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. service award for his leadership in the West Orange, NJ community through the arts.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mgmt./Industrial Relations from Seton Hall University, and is a licensed NJ educator with a specialization in Math. Rated as a “Highly Effective” educator,  Carl has taught students in Newark, and West Orange, and has been an instructional coach, interventionist, and educational specialist. As an artist Carl Brister’s songs reflect his life’s journey.  Carl adds, “No matter the twists and turns, ups or downs, my music will always lead us back to hope and to love.  Because love never fails.”
